take action on colombia

BAP affiliate organization Proceso de Comunidades Negras (PCN or Black Communities Process in English) and other organizations recently reported to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) regarding violations against Afrodescendants during the national strike in Colombia. The following sign-on statement was prepared by Ilex Acción Jurìdica (one of the participants in the report) and endorsed by the International Service for Human Rights (ISHR). It discusses the Colombian state’s lack of compliance with all standards on the use of force and its particular impact on Afro-Colombians.

The deadline to sign the statement is Sunday, June 27, 2021. Please circulate widely in your networks.
