Please join Friends of Latin America and the Claudia Jones School for Political Education as we hear young people from the DMV report back on Nicaragua!

Nicolás Torrente is a diaspora Nicaraguan living in Northern Virginia and a member of CPUSA, aiming for a career in agriculture to solve issues like food apartheid in America.

Julie Varughese is coordinator of the Black Alliance for Peace Solidarity Network and Editor at Toward Freedom.

Makeda Sheffield is a producer for RT International with a BS in Broadcast Communications from Bowie State University.

Christian Guevara is a local organizer and part of the Claudia Jones School for Political Education and CPUSA. He works with a variety of community and international solidarity groups—mostly focused on Latin American anti-Imperialism.

Wyatt Reed is a correspondent with Sputnik News and Press TV covering social movements and imperialist interventions throughout the Americas.

Garrett Harris is an organizer with Pan African Community Action, a member organization of Black Alliance for Peace.
