Join us to conclude our Black August commemoration with Curbfest for Political Prisoners in Atlanta at the Little Five Points Community Center on August 30, 2026, from 1 PM-4 PM. 

From COINTELPRO's targeting of Black revolutionaries to today's dramatic expansion of the repressive capacity of the state through militarized policing and ICE, the U.S. prison state continues to represent the contemporary iteration of state repression historically directed against Black liberation organizations, Indigenous movements, labor militants, Anti-war organizers, and other dissident political currents in the United States. Curbfest for Political Prisoners lets us connect with organizers, build with community members, and engage in political education in the struggle for Political Prisoners who have been jailed on charges related to their resistance to oppression and repression and targeted by the state for their political beliefs and/or actions.

Engage in dedicated letter writing to political prisoners Keith LaMar, Shaka Shakur, Rev. Joy Powell, Kojo, and Kamau Sadiki. Food will be provided, cultural fundraising activities for the whole family to participate in, music, speakers, and more!
