With the Attack on Iran, the Black Alliance for Peace Calls on the Remaining Teams in the FIFA World Cup to Withdraw from the Tournament 

The United States’ cynical decision to resume active warfare against Iran while simultaneously draping itself under the guise of a gracious global host for the FIFA World Cup exposes a foreign policy defined by rank impunity and lawlessness that must be rejected by the international community.

As the Trump administration escalates strikes against Iran, the Board of Peace actively abets the region’s immolation. As the U.S./Israel coalition/alliance continues to systematically destroy Palestine through genocide and ethnic cleansing, the Trump administration supports the refusal of Israel to withdrawal from Lebanon, where they apply the same genocidal campaign as they have in Gaza. The ongoing crimes against humanity, war crimes, support for genocide and resumption of the attack on Iran means that the World Cup must not be allowed to proceed as business as usual.  

The U.S. presenting itself as the world’s welcoming host is morally obscene.

The World Cup games should not be allowed to go on as long as the U.S. is attacking Iran, Lebanon is being destroyed, and Palestine continues to be brutally assaulted from the West Bank to Gaza. While the affronts on the human dignity of football teams and players from Iran and other nations during this World Cup show the arrogance and colonial mindset of the U.S., we must focus our attention on the primary issue of U.S. war, imperialist domination, and genocide.

We must Boycott the World Cup and Boycott the U.S.!
