Anniversary of the Protest of Baraguá Action – Harlem, NY
March 15 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Theresa Motel
Harlem
Join us to commemorate the anniversary of the Protest of Baraguá, a historic moment in Cuba’s fight for independence. On March 15, 1878, Cuban revolutionary Antonio Maceo refused to accept a peace treaty without independence or the abolition of slavery, demonstrating the unwavering commitment to liberation that continues to inspire today.
This action brings together solidarity organizers and community members to honor that legacy and connect it to the current fight against the U.S. blockade and for Cuba’s sovereignty.
