On June 7th, the Black Alliance for Peace NYC/NJ City Wide Alliance will host a town hall around the subject of State Violence, Migration, and Global Displacement. This event aims to explore the complexities of migration, state violence, and global systems of power and how they manifest locally in the NYC/NJ area. By connecting themes such as economic imperialism, prison imperialism, internal colonialism, and gentrification, the town hall will critically examine how state actors and policies shape migration patterns, enforce displacement, and perpetuate violence against colonized communities. Join BAP NYC/NJ to discuss these root causes of migration and displacement in the U.S. and globally. We'll explore the impact on our lives in NYC, how local organizations are responding, and how to work together to build strategies to address the terror being inflicted on our communities.
