We are at war. We have been at war. Intentionally framing the continued murder, genocide, and escalating violence against Africans and all oppressed people, locally and globally, as a terrain of war clarifies the context and increases the understanding of how we engage in battle. Whether through local organizing through Baltimore’s self-defense coalition or through the localization of BAP’s primary campaigns for global solidarity, we see a clear path of resistance to stand up and fight back - without compromise and without retreat.

The police are killing us - locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. We understand that, within the historical context of the Black Liberation Movement, the Western imperialist agenda will stop at nothing to squash any hint of revolutionary potential. This is reinforced by the admission of the state in the COINTELPRO papers that the Black Panther Party was “the greatest threat to U.S. national security,” where “national security” is simply terminology for “ruling class power and influence to maintain U.S. hegemony for mass extraction and accumulation.”

The Empire will continue its war with force and without regard for humanity as long as its militarized structures remain in place which allow it to act with impunity. By eliminating the command centers of U.S. militarization (like AFRICOM and SOUTHCOM), local militarized entities like cop cities, and the policies and programs that embolden them (like 1033 and Deadly Exchange), we can address the forces that protect and maintain power to defeat western imperialist domination.

By connecting the dots of our shared struggle within this war, we unite against a common enemy to fight back as collective resistance. Rooted in the Black Radical Peace Tradition, we will resist until there is peace.
