The implementation of the DC Crime Bill is the latest stage of an ongoing war against the Black working class, centered around the criminalization of Black youth. This "tough on crime" approach is also a national phenomena, with new crime bills and cop cities being proposed in cities across the country. This nationwide militarization and expansion of local policing is also closely connected to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), whose training and tactical insights are used by US police to occupy and terrorize Black working class communities and disrupt student protests. Fundamentally, crime bills are the reactionary response of the settler colonial ruling class and fail to address the root issues that lead to street-level crime: crime: poverty, addiction, food insecurity, inadequate housing, demeaning self-image, and many others.

Join PACA on 5/8 at 7pm ET to discuss the implications and enforcement of the DC Crime Bill, analyze the interconnections between Zionism, the IDF and the US police state, and strategize around community based solutions that can address these root issues.
