Join the National Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression (NAARPR) DC branch for our inaugural event, delving into the history of Community Control of Police (CCOP) as valuable lessons for organizers, and the need for Community Control of Police as a movement demand in DC and nationally. This space will serve as an intergenerational discussion and vehicle for political education between community organizers and individuals to consider why they should support the call for Community Control of Police.
All are invited, especially Black, Brown and all POC organizers that have engaged demands for police accountability, self-determination, and community control as radical responses to the violent institution of policing.
Speakers:
• Frank Chapman, NAARPR
• Max Rameau, Pan-African Community Action (PACA), a BAP member organization
• L. Gato Martinez-Bentley, DC Metro CPUSA
