The Black Alliance for Peace @bap_baltimore & @aaprpdmv presents: “The Fallacy of Human Rights.” The U.S. The Empire tout themselves as leaders of human rights and the moral authority in the world. They claim to defend human rights wherever they go, whether through fighting so-called terrorists or spreading democracy. However, the idea that the West can or will uphold human rights is simply false. The “Western” human rights regime continues to be a tool of the U.S. Empire.

The concept of human rights is contradicted by the U.S.backed genocide in Gaza, the bombing of sovereign countries and civilians, and the continued oppression of Africans across the internal colonies within the U.S. Instead of this flawed human rights model, we call for a framework centered around the freedoms deserved by all people, as decided by the people themselves. We call for people-centered human rights.
