The France–Africa Summit is scheduled to convene in Nairobi on May 11–12th, branded as "Africa Forward" and spun as an effort to improve mutual innovation and growth between Africa and France. This summit has emerged in the wake of France's military and diplomatic retreat from West Africa, where anti-imperialist uprisings expelled colonial troops from Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger. French imperialism is now turning to East Africa, with Kenya as its principal gateway.
The Black Alliance for Peace’s Africa Team / U.S. Out of Africa Network (BAP) holds that the actual role and intentions of France in Africa are revealed in France’s current efforts to establish a permanent military presence in Kenya as direct compensation for its losses in the Sahel.
As a prelude to the Pan-Africanism Summit Against Imperialism, designed to expose the imperialist nature of the France–Africa Summit, BAP invites you to this webinar that will cover such issues as the significance of the U.S. formally designating Kenya as a Major Non-NATO Ally (MNNA), the first in Sub-Saharan Africa, and France being a founding member of NATO. Speakers will deconstruct the real underlying motives of France and the West – military expansion and economic domination – and highlight the revolutionary response to be reflected in the Pan-Africanism Summit Against Imperialism.
