While DC area communities are steadily fed by the media the message that the police are the only solution to crime and violence, DC Mayor Bowser and MPD Chief Robert Contee criminalize Black working class victims of poverty created by capitalism, effectively turning Black, Brown and indigenous working class people into expendable populations. So, what must be done?

A growing list of other local organizations invite you; DC area activists, organizers, and the community at-large to “The Bowser-Contee DC Police State & The Federal Greenlight of Repression” a free teach-in on Thursday, March 9th about the impacts of U.S. police terror in the DC Area and what to do about it. This teach-in is a part of the National Day of Action Against Police Terror in response to the killing by police of Tyre Nichols in Memphis TN and anti-Cop City activist Manuel Tortuguita in Atlanta GA.

Come out to this FREE teach-in Thursday March 9th, from 6 to 9 pm at the Black Worker & Wellness Center, 2500 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, Southeast DC, across from the Anacostia metro station.

Free food and drink will be served. There will be a cultural performance by local hip hop artist Dahk Matter.

Co-conveners: PACA (Pan-African Community Action), Black Lives Matter-DC, Malcolm X Grassroots Movement-DC Chapter, DC Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression, ONE DC, and Spirit of Sankofa-School of Revolutionary Thought.
