We love peace. We want peace and social development for all. But for the Black Alliance for Peace, we recognize that for peace there must be justice. And to achieve social justice we always understood that we had to fight for it.
This is what distinguishes the Black radical peace tradition from the mainstream peace movement and is why BAP goes to the people for support. We understand that the struggle for peace is inextricably linked to the successful realization of a revolutionary process.
They have declared war.
Last month BAP brought attention to the fact that the “Collective West” had objectively declared war on humanity in order to maintain its global dominance. We also said that we were up to the task of opposition because we have no other choice – surrender is not an option.
But as a formation we need support.
We need for you to dig deep and support our work either with a donation or as a monthly sustainer.
Take a moment here to support our grassroots efforts to build radical alternative power.
We go to the people in this battle that we are waging for social justice and peace. We have no illusions. We understand that the liberal structures and institutions that are aligned with the capitalist order are not going to support our work. We are not going to be on any magazine covers or receive millions from corporations or big grants from philanthropic organizations. And we are fine with that. We don’t solicit from those sources.
We go to you – individual donors - with hat in hand asking that you support this work. We don’t even feel compelled to cite the long list of our activities, campaigns and organizing efforts because if you are seeing this message, you are already familiar with our work. You see, when you are actually doing something, the work and your presence is felt.
And if you do not know much about our work but you might be interested, it would only take a few minutes to visit our website to see why BAP is widely respected, even if our politics might not be in complete alignment with yours.
You see, not only do we understand the historic task to be building alternative radical popular power, but we also convey that position and our objectives clearly and without apologies. We assert that there can be no ambiguities when it is clear that the defenders of the oppressive order are waging unrelenting war against collective humanity to maintain the oppressive power of the imperialist order.
