The people of Culebra and Vieques lived under war-like conditions while the U.S. and other countries conducted military training and weapons testing. Mass mobilizations led to the closure of bases and the end of military exercises. But their historic struggle for human rights and environmental justice continues.

Mirada Puesta en Puerto Rico: Crisis en Culebra y Vieques

Los pueblos de Culebra y Vieques, los municipios insulares de Puerto Rico vivieron bajo condiciones de guerra mientras los EEUU y otros países realizaban ejercicios de entrenamiento de guerra total y probaban armas. Las movilizaciones masivas llevaron al cierre de las bases y al fin de los ejercicios militares. Sin embargo, su histórica lucha por los derechos humanos y la justicia ambiental continúa.
