Join us for an insightful town hall event as we delve into the critical issues surrounding the Baltimore City School System and the Nonprofit Industrial Complex. For decades, Baltimore City’s public schools have been a battleground, facing challenges such as underfunding, overcrowded classrooms, staffing shortages, and infrastructure issues. Meanwhile, the local government’s lack of support exacerbates these struggles for students and their families.

In tandem with the challenges faced by the public school system, Baltimore City is home to a vast network of nonprofit organizations focused on youth services. However, we ask: Is youth support their sole purpose?

Our panel of speakers will explore the symbiotic relationship between Baltimore City Public Schools and the Nonprofit Industrial Complex. They will engage in discussions about the hurdles confronting educators, students, organizers, and community members striving to navigate institutions and drive meaningful change.

This town hall provides a platform for thought-provoking dialogue and strategic planning to address systemic challenges and advocate for equitable education and support for Baltimore’s youth.
